EIGHT YEARS

Today makes the the anniversary of my turning away from drugs and alcohol and turning to Jesus Christ. On the morning of February 5, 2003 I found myself alone, addicted, staring at a pile of cocaine and an empty bottle of Jack Daniels after being on a week long binge.

It was on that morning God moved radically in my life, I had no clue what the future would hold but I did know that I had to get close to Him who held the future in His hand.

In Genesis 12:1 God called Abram.

Genesis 12:1 The LORD had said to Abram, “Go from your country, your people and your father’s household to the land I will show you.

God did not tell Abram where to go at that moment, He just told Abram to “go from”.

To “go from” his old neighborhood, no more hanging out at the old haunts.

To “go from” hanging out with his peeps to embark on a new journey.

To “go from” his father’s household, it was time to move out and head out.

Abram stepped out in faith fully trusting in the Lord, like Abram I found myself not knowing where I was going but knowing for sure what I was leaving behind, fully trusting in the Lord I have no regrets and I have not been disappointed.

Joel 2:25 God promises to restore.

Joel 2:25 So I will restore to you the years that the swarming locust has eaten…

God is all about saving souls and restoring lives.

In Christ I no longer find myself desiring to do the things I used to want to do.

Jesus has given me salvation, a future and a hope.

Restored, redeemed, fulfilled, satisfied, recovered and cured I find myself lacking nothing in Christ.

Sick and tired of being sick and tired?

Commit your life to Christ, ask Him to forgive you of your sins, surrender to Him daily and allow Him to lead you.

Jeremiah 33:3 Call to Me, and I will answer you, and show you great and mighty things, which you do not know.’

And He will blow your mind.

CREATIVE WRITING 101

Welcome to our Creative Writing program.
Please take a seat and relax while I give you your assignment.

The Assignment:

1. You are going to write a book.
(Ok you say to yourself, a book no problem what kind of a book?)

2. It is going to be a love story.
(Now you start thinking…a love story? Who will I market?)

3. This book has got to appeal to every generation from all cultures and translate into hundreds of different languages.
(Now you start thinking about dropping the class, realizing that you are in over your head.)

4. Before I forget, this book has got to remain the world’s best seller.
(O.K. I’m out of here…A book?  Love story… That has got to appeal to people from all cultures transcending multiple generations?  While remaining a best seller?  Who could write such a thing?)
